The Best of Hot Summer Swim Beaches

Summer is the time we look for visiting beaches. The Sun, warm sand, waves, lull of the surf and the smell of the ocean helps us to relax and find peace. Some of them prefer to be more active swimming, surfing, beachcombing and snorkeling.

Some of the most sought after summer beaches are

Cannon Beach, Oregon
This beach was named after the cannon that washed ashore from a shipwreck in 1846. The main attraction of this summer beach is the world’s third largest freestanding monolith, the 235 foot tall chunk that sits on the beach. The main pastimes at the beach are whale watching, beachcombing, riding three-wheelers along the sand or walking beside the surf. An annual day is also celebrated here every year in the month of June called Sandcastle Day. The scenery across the beach is breathtaking but the weather is rugged with temperatures touching 80 degree Fahrenheit during the peak summer.

Cape May, New Jersey
This is one of the most costly beaches as it has a reputation of being frequented by the founding fathers of the old colonial states and more recently by the Presidents of the United States that many hotels here claim to be the “The Summer White House”.

Cape May was recognized as one of America’s top 10 beaches with Victorian structures and island’s rich history. This beach is a world-famous location for observing migratory birds with over 400 species of birds being recorded.

East Hampton, New York
The main activities on the beach of East Hampton, is strolling along the broad stretches of white sand and listening to the roaring waves, surfing and taking a walk through thousands of acres of white pine. For those who are not a fan of Mother Nature you may visit many galleries, antiques or go shopping.

Honaunau Bay, Hawaii
The most amazing experience in Hawaii is that you get an opportunity to swim with spinner dolphins if you go for an early morning swim.

The Honaunau beach is a crescent shaped beach with soft white sands and tall palm trees. The natural beauty of the beach has lured photographers and made this beach the most photographed beach in Hawaii.

The highlight of this bay is the coffee plantations and the rain forests.

Kapalua, Hawaii
This summer beach has golden sand and huge palm trees. The beach is protected from the strong winds and waves by black lava shelter. This makes swimming very safe year round. The beach is opposite to Molokai Island, where whales are seen offshore in winter.

Mauna Kea, Hawaii
This summer beach has white sand, palm tress and clear blue water. The crescent shaped beach is a favorite spot for sun worshippers, water sport enthusiasts and families looking for a place full of sand that is also safe. It’s a nice place to rent a car and drive around, as the Big Island experiences 10 of the world’s 12 climates from a snow capped mountain to a desert to the world’s most active volcano.
